Case Study
Inner Harbor Improvements Project, Port Washington, Wisconsin
Overview
Project Highlights
- The model study allowed the existing wave conditions to be quantified, multiple alternatives to be evaluated, and a protection solution to be developed with confidence in a short time frame (2 months)
- The reconfigured inner harbour area provides an expanded waterfront park with direct linkage to the downtown, in addition to wave protection exceeding that in the existing marina
- The City of Port Washington now has an attractive waterfront amenity that enhances the viability of the community. The project has become a cornerstone for additional improvements to the downtown area and initiated further waterfront redevelopment
