- A lake-wide MIKE3 model of Lake Ontario was used to capture the complex hydrodynamic processes including upwelling
- The comprehensive modeling effort used CORMIX and MIKE3 to model the full range of conditions
- The new outfall will extend to the edge of the Toronto Scarp, discharging effluent to the zone nearest to deep water
- A comprehensive field data collection and monitoring program was implemented
- Sediment processes modeling was undertaken to evaluate potential impacts of sediment on the diffuser
